A nineteen-year-old was among three men who were allegedly involved in a robbery at Kemabolo Village in the Rigo district, Central Province, on December 23 between 11pm and 12 midnight along the Magi Highway. Central Provincial Police Commander Acting Superintendent Laimo Asi confirmed that the four and others who had been identified are still on the run. According to the police report, the suspects, armed with firearms, robbed a vehicle that was driving along the Magi Highway to that village when the armed men robbed properties from the passengers. The police officers who were on duty for the festive season were notified responded quickly by collecting information to identify the suspects who were later apprehended while the others are still on the run. PPC Asi said the suspects are from his villages. So he will not rest until all those who are on the run surrender to the police, and those who had been captured are formally charged for the offences committed. "During the launch of Central Province Police Festive Seasson Operation at Kwikila station, I made it clear to the people that the police are now out in numbers to make sure that all the citizens of Central province and those who reside and do business in the province are protected. "I strongly commended the act of these criminals and the four arrested will not go free. They will be charged under the Criminal Code Act for armed robbery. "I want to thank the officers who had worked tirelessly to apprehend the four The four who were arrested were all from Kemabolo village. PPC Asi further urged the people in the village to help assist the police to bring the other suspects still on the run to the police. He said the bad ones who are in the community need to be punished so it will teach the others and it will also stop such bad practices from passing on to the younger ones.
