The SC lambasted the Gujarat government for "acting in tandem with" one of the convicts, Radheshyam Bhagwandas Shah, who, the bench held, "played fraud" on the top court. The bench ruled that the Gujarat government was "complicit" with the convict who "surreptitiously" moved the SC by "by suppressing material aspects and misleading the court".
