Jason Kelce Gives a Preview of the Dad Voice He Uses When Disciplining His Girls: 'I Mean Business'

Hannah Sacks is a writer/reporter for the Parents team at PEOPLE. She has been working at PEOPLE since May 2023. Her work has previously appeared in The Toy Insider, The Toy Book, The Pop Insider, and Saratoga Living. Jason Kelce is taking a few things from his own dad when it comes to disciplining his three daughters. While speaking with his brother Travis Kelce, 34, and his mom Donna Kelce, 71, on a holiday episode of his podcast New Heights with Jason and Travis Kelce, the Philadelphia Eagles center, 36, was asked by his brother who spoils his girls more -- Jason or Donna. "Oh man. That's close. I would assume it would have to be Jason because he's here most of the time," the Kelce family matriarch answered. "Do I spoil them though? I feel like I try not to," Jason responded. "You don't, but you're very kind and you're very gentle. You know, you keep them in line. All it takes from you is just your voice and they stop," Donna noted, with Travis piping in, "That's the Ed Kelce way." Adding that he's not a screamer, Donna said, "It's more like a voice." "Hey! Cut it out," Travis joked, putting on a deep voice. Laughing, Jason brought up a similar situation that happened a few nights prior. "I'm not even making this story up. We were in their bedroom last night, or a couple nights ago actually and I'm trying to get them to go to bed," he began. "And I just keep going like this, 'Hey. hey,'" the girl dad said, speaking in a gruff voice. "And Wyatt's like, 'Dad? Dad? Why do you go like this?' " Jason recalled as he stared directly into the camera, unblinking. "And I'm like, 'It's because I mean business. I'm not playing around.'" Jason shares his girls -- Elliotte, 2, Wyatt, 4, and Bennett, 10 months -- with wife Kylie Kelce. On the first episode of season 2 of New Heights back in September, the mom of three, 31, was asked by Travis whether she or Jason plays "bad cop" more with their three girls. "I'm bad cop, Jason's good cop," she said. "No chance! I'm definitely bad cop," Jason fired back before adding, "Well, I'm bad cop and good cop. You never know what you're going to get, gotta keep them on their toes." "I have to be bad cop most of the time because I'm outnumbered," Kylie leveled. "On any given day, I have to be bad cop most of the day. We're trying to limit injuries and keep the peace for the most part. And when it's just me, it's three against one and I've got to try and nip it in the bud before anything goes terribly awry." "When Jason's home, usually he's the fun one. He does the launching onto the bed and all the things that end up in one of them crying 'Mom!' because someone sustains an injury," Kylie added. "The only times when he's bad cop is when I say, 'Jason!' and he says, 'What?' and I say, 'A little help!'" The NFL star agreed with his wife, laughing along with his brother.

These Are the 15 Best Laptop Backpacks for Travel

Things to Consider Before Buying a Laptop Backpack for Travel When you're buying a backpack for travel, especially one for transporting a laptop, you should consider the capacity and how much will fit. Some laptop backpacks for travel only fit certain size laptops, others might just fit a laptop and a few other things and some can store several clothes as well as notebooks, laptops, toiletry bags, and more. In some cases, laptop backpacks for travel with higher storage capacity can function similarly to a weekender bag. And bonus points if there are lots of pockets and compartments for organizing your items. "Compartmentalizing work items creates ease of navigation on the go," Volpe says. "Another factor in purchasing a travel laptop bag is durability," says Volpe. She points out various travel hazards like spilled coffee on planes and rainstorms where a good backpack material can be the difference between a ruined day and momentary inconvenience. You want to make sure that, like other types of underseat luggage, your laptop backpack for travel can withstand the wear and tear of being shoved by your feet on an airplane. "Durable materials like leather are luxe and long-lasting," says Volpe. "They also take wear and tear nicely." She points out that the look of leather improves over time, so even once it has worn down over time, it will retain that vintage leather feel. "Another great option for durability is high-quality polyester," she says (as well as nylon). She adds that this material generally costs less than leather, and can "outlast torrential downpours and being crammed into an overhead compartment." Our best overall laptop backpack for travel is the Solo Re-Define Backpack, partly due to its lightweight, durable, water-resistant polyester material. The design of a laptop backpack for travel can either aid or hinder your travels, so you want to look for features that add to the overall comfort, durability, and use of the bag. Features like adjustable straps, the ability to connect to a charger, and the number of pockets and storage compartments are all important factors to look for. Also, an ergonomic top handle is great for those who prefer carrying tote bags. "Instead of being too trend forward I look for a travel laptop bag that has an aesthetic which can last for three to four years versus one season," Volpe says. She suggests avoiding wild prints/patterns and looking for solid colors that will pair well with many outfits and occasions. "A travel laptop bag isn't something you just throw away like a budget-friendly evening clutch," exclaims Volpe. "It has to be appropriate to take to business meetings and while working from your local coffee shop." It's not unlike investing in a great functional women's work bag. But a laptop backpack for travel doesn't have to be boring. "Color is A-okay for the creative and fun-loving types," she says. "Combination neutrals like cream, brown, and gray are chic, mature, and versatile to coordinate with any outfit." And for the tech-s...
